THE WEEKENDER :) INCREDIBLE PITCH

JUST A WEE DRAM
The Weekender :) is posting an extraordinary video today.
Watch how it is shot and performed, as one long
movement.  Having directed in the field, I assure
you this is a great piece of work by director,
crew and actor.
Enjoy

Rumble, the band featuring our
Mac Guru and friend Rick Auricchio
on bass, rocked the Cambria Lodge last night.
The place was packed, and then made
more full by attendees of a conference
of trial lawyers.
Yea, you can image the jokes and comments.
Sorry for picture quality.  Shot on a smart phone in looooow light.
See you down the trail.

  1. I've just watched that Johnny Walker commercial TWICE. Can't think where it would have run but it's a well-planned out and great piece of work. I had to go to You Tube though to get it to go full screen.

  2. Pleasantly surprised to see the blog pop up this morning (including a guest appearance by Bruce Taylor), but of course since it came over the transom through the State IT system, the Net Nanny software prevented viewing. Will have to forward to myself at home this evening, perhaps even foregoing the upcoming episode of "Alcatraz." Commenting blind and without having seen the commercial, the SteadiCam "one long, sweeping take" shot was, I would argue, perfected as a compelling technique in the opening scene of various Steven Bochco series, starting with the signature opening of "Hill Street Blues" (1981-87) as well as reprising in "LA Law" (1986-94) and "NYPD Blue" (1993-2005), and with guest appearances in the medical counterpart series, including "St. Elsewhere" (1982-88) and "ER" (1994-2009).
