PASSIVE-NON AGGRESSIVE-WAITING

CATCHING LIGHT

It's the time when the sun's angles are harder and fleeting
but the light bursts.
Fog ghosting out of valleys at sunrise
or clouds surfing on the setting sun offer themselves.
Disappearing afternoon rays offer Hemingway a patch of warmth.
In the east a moon pokes above the mountain top.
In the west, the nightly dunking.
On this evening a crescent moon presides over the afterglow.
A DELETION
The earlier post regarding Lindsey Graham's destructive comments and their legacy have been removed.  They do not warrant your attention as we watch the evolution of events resulting from the grand jury report in Ferguson.
The posturing of Graham and other Senate Republicans may derail hopes the party could return to more practical, pragmatic and traditional positions and leadership. There will be more appropriate times to wade into that.

    See you down the trail.

  2. Tom, don't hold back. Think of your blood pressure. Seriously, though, a good rant like this one can tolerate a few grammatical problems. Your main point is to the point: What in hell has happened to our current Brunswick stew of Republicans? They used to make sense (some, sometimes) and understand what governing was about, keeping the ship of state moving across the waves, rather than trying to sink her if they don't get their way on every little thing. So, keep on keeping' on Tomaso.

  3. Not sure I want to read what some have called a "rant." TC and I have always dwelt on (metaphor alert!) opposite poles of the political compass, however we remain cordial when discussing politics. Some politicians will always have a disconnect with reality, whether it be Joe Biden's, "Keep y'all in chains," comment or John Boehner's, "poison the well," remark. Personally, I believe Nancy Pelosi has mastered radio star Gracie Allen's illogical logic. Anyway, the events in Ferguson, MO, are polarizing enough for today.

  4. The photos are great! (Is Hemmingway licking himself all over because of the water shortage?)
