A VILLAGE VIEW
Just about everything is conformed by "village life."
In San Francisco, LA, San Diego, Santa Barbara and elsewhere we still enjoy the urban buzz that connects with our earlier years, but we find a continuing pleasure in how life in a village is personal, intimate, picturesque, eccentric and yes, even a little slow.
Here Cambria is adorned for the 4th.
I think that the best of Americana and patriotism are to be found in small communities such as the ones in your pictures. Happy Fourth.
ReplyDeleteI check on it at least once a year - every time I'm in Washington. A damn shame that others don't do that
ReplyDelete4th of July kicks off at 11 AM at Shamel Park. Patriotism will be demonstrated in our slice of heaven. Lots of good fun and good food at very reasonable prices. A great fireworks show at the end. Tri-Tip, hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs, Harmony Cellers wine and cold beer, Linn's pie and 3 bands playing all day long. Hope to see you all there.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post Tom. Happy Fourth to you sir.
ReplyDeleteI went out to put up our flag this morning but I needed the taller ladder, I could see one of the nails was missing and it was too hot. So the neighbors will just have to trust me on my patriotism.
