DOES IT MATTER?-NSA AND FREEDOM-CURIOS AND A THROWBACK

DOES IT MATTER?
First Amendment rights are being challenged by an information gathering surveillance function of the NSA.
The First Amendment protects and therefore guarantees freedom of religion, speech, press and the right to assemble to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK

CURIOS AND KNICKKNACK'S
Curios are rare objects of value.  Knickknacks are odd, small and supposedly worthless household items.

 THROWBACK TO LATE 70'S
Hanging out with Elliot Gould who was passing through on a promotional tour.  Yep that's a chef's jacket I'm wearing. WNAP FM, where I was a newscaster, would frequently choose a location, set up a tent and cook breakfast for anyone who stopped by. We frequently created massive traffic jams.  On this day the crowds were even larger.

   See you down the trail.

LIKE A GIRL, CATS, BLOOMS AND CONTROVERSY

LIKE A GIRL
Procter and Gambles' Always brand has generated nearly 18 million views and much more conversation with their "Like a Girl" campaign in social media.
As the father of two women, strong individualists with extraordinary skill sets and accomplishments and of whom I am proud, I love the message and punch of this video.
To those who take exception, get over it.  Hard to believe, but there are still people who don't think women should be ordained ministers, or be a CEO, or take command in battle, and etc.  Hate to break it to you, but the earth is not flat either!
ANGRY CATS
What an attitude that a foggy and cool morning can prompt.  They found a way to our second floor bedroom deck and stirred me from sleep with "Hey bud, our paws are wet out here!"

A THROWBACK
Long time friend and mentor, Bruce AKA Catalyst started me rummaging through old files when he started his Throwback Thursday photos. You can link to his blog in the column to the right.  Here's a real oldie--from the 70's.  I'm addressing a few thousand people from the terrace of the Arts Building at Ball State. I was a young journalist covering the environmental beat and was asked to keynote the Earth Day observances.

See you down the trail.

THE WEEKENDER-THE WAGON AND THE BEACH

THE VISIT
Central California Coastal scenes draw thousands each year.  If you are a frequent reader of LightBreezes you know that a friend and fellow blogger, Bruce AKA The Catalyst, was here, and away from his own posting, but he was "working"
 pondering and posing.
I'm interested to see how his exposure of this overly back lit and entirely too bright scene turns out.
A great visit with a couple of great friends, but time flew
all too quickly.
THE WEEKENDER VIDEO
Taking you for a ride....
Have a great weekend.
See you down the trail.

HIGH TIDES AND CHOCOLATE TONGUES

ROUGH SURF

High surf advisories were up again today.
17 foot waves were predicted. Even where it was
less than that, you could see the power of the Pacific.

Surf advisories turn the ocean into a kind of pallet of motion and action.

It was mostly gentle at San Simeon cove, near to
where the Friday Lunch Flash Mob gathered.
Today was chocolate taste test day.
Six candies, to be evaluated, 1-6.
Our official CPA, Jeanie, did the tabulation.

Our royal surrogate, Princess Pam and Ruth, the matron of our salon, presided.
 Troy announced the results.
And everyone took home citrus grown
by Bob in Bakersfield.
In the last couple of days fellow blogger, Bruce a.k.a the Catalyst, and I have traded notes about living in a small town or village.  He was somewhat incredulous when I said I loved it and can hardly imagine living again in a large urban setting. Village life is different, indeed, but so sweet.
Can you imagine a Friday lunch crowd like ours
in many other locations?
I told him the saying we hear out here is true.
"Cambria is not like the rest of the world."
His wise counsel (he is my elder) was
"To continue to enjoy life in your oblivion,
stay out of local politics!"
See you down the trail.
