A beloved California poppy and a few of his/her/its cousins lifted my spirits and changed my mood as I ambled the bluff walk.
I noticed I wasn't the only ambler. Reminding us, it's always a matter of perspective. Sometimes a change a view is good medicine, "magic" as by-passer uttered while I paused for a photo.
See you down the trail.
Tom: Thank you for this change in perspective. It's a good reminder that, even amidst the worst of times, nature goes on in spite of us. And that's something worth appreciating and celebrating.
ReplyDeleteOur first crocus, daffodils and snowdrops came out a couple weeks ago, then we got our first snow of the winter a day ago...after the warmest Dec on record for Seattle. Then, the driest Jan on record, so snowpack in the Cascades of Washington and Oregon is at record lows. Summer will be interesting..June-Aug are supposed to be hotter and drier than 'normal' (is there a normal anymore?), and the feds reduction in Forest Service staff (firefighters).
ReplyDeleteBalm for the soul, thank you Tom
