The sky interfused with the gray marine bank on the horizon and everything muted in the cast of a haze and filtered flat light.
A "Fogust" day with a twist, more pelican squads than I have seen.
North of Cambria the kelp beds and sea vegetation is thick, heavy and in my untrained observation, thicker than normal.
VERY gray on the Gulf Coast today.
ReplyDeleteWe are concerned for friends in that area.
DeleteWe have the marine layer every morning, so thick some days it doesn't burn off until noon. We're about 9 miles from the Pacific as the pelican flies.
ReplyDeleteWe think of that marine layer as a blessing this time of year.
DeleteWe mostly get brown pelicans down here on the South (Facing) Coast, and not as many as up in Cambria. Boo-hoo.
ReplyDeleteSteve, we've notice some formations heading your way. They are a fascinating flying "machine."
DeleteI'll look for them out at Piedras Blancas with the seals this morning. When pelicans are around, we often see dolphins, too.
ReplyDeleteChristine,
DeleteThere is no shortage of entertainment "out there."
