AN ODYSSEY OF PEACE, LOVE AND DIRT

Once again the Live Oak Nation is called together for peace, love and dirt.

Do yourself a favor, have a little fun and spend a few minutes departing the norm.

Colorful people, being colorful and raising money for KCBX public radio and the love of tie dye.

Year 30 for the music festival. A post pandemic resumption returns Live Oak to it's relatively new home at  El Chorro Park, San Luis Obispo.

See you down the trail

  4. Donald J Trump is by far the worst president in our nation's history. He may not hold onto that post of dishonor if Florida's governor DeSantis gets elected in 2024, because DeSantis is smarter and more in control of his ego while being every bit the fascist that Trump is. Hubris, ego, and vanity have unseated the worst of human "leaders" in the past. Will our luck hold, especially in the darkness engendered by this US Supreme Court parked in power by faithful but thoughtless Republicans?

  5. The prior comment was by me, Stephen Figler. I don't hide behind anonymity.

  6. I concur wholeheartedly, Tom. I think you'll also appreciate this... Following the Roe v Wade decision, I was contacted by a 30-year old in Indianapolis who is a former student of a mutual friend of ours who previously taught at Butler Univ. Here's an excerpt of his email to me: "My girlfriend and I are starting to make plans to relocate from central Indiana to Portland in the next year-and-a-half, due primarily to the inevitable outlawing of any and all abortions by the Indiana General Assembly. Sadly, this makes Indiana a place where we would not feel comfortable trying to start a family." IMO, we have only just begun to see the mass exodus of young people from ass backward states like Indiana. We truly have become two Americas. I could not be more thankful we moved to the west coast 6 years ago, and I still have faith that your "get off the couch" comment will come to fruition and NOT voting will be a thing of the past. But, dammit, the price we've had to pay to hopefully get the masses to the polls has been nauseating and frightening to the core. I can only hope justice truly does prevail.
